IPHost Network Monitor allows you to test and monitor performance parameters of network servers. You can select which variable to monitor using built-in MIB browser that provides you with all variables supported by server, their current values and descriptions taken from MIBs.
Servers, in broad sense, are network devices (hardware or software), providing one or more network services (including client-server model). The variety of servers types prevents us from even concise listing of possibly supported protocols and purposes. Very wide categories include mail servers, Web servers, media servers, file servers and so on.
In less broad sense, servers are OS builds and/or hardware devices aimed at providing varying number of network services, providing high efficiency and reliability, when compared to desktop and/or mobile devices.
Typical servers monitoring use cases
Depending on server type (namely, on the services provided and the server primary function), monitoring can be used to verify services status, quality, possible limits (such as quota, congestion), apart from general hardware health and availability issues.
